Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Bexley Mencap has been delivering weekly activity packs to people with a learning disability and their carers – many of who are vulnerable, housebound and still shielding.
So Bexley Mencap was pleased to receive a donation from Sainsburys Bexleyheath of art work and materials such as felt tips, crayons and coloured pencils as well as a drawing book.
This will help keep people with a learning disability active at a time when respite care is limited for carers and many services like day centres are still closed and opportunities for group activities are still very limited.
Many of the drawings are then shared on Bexley Mencap’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/bexleymencap/
Deborah Mascart, Store Manager of Sainsbury’s Bexleyheath said “We are proud to be helping out Bexley Mencap during this time of the coronavirus pandemic. “
